How to Setup PayZa Account (AlertPay) from Scratch

Step-by-step guide on how to create or setup Payza Account to make or receive payments online

Payza is an e-wallet (electronic wallet) payment processing system that was founded back then in 2004, to enable businesses and people of any kind to send and receive online payments speedily, securely and efficiently just by using their email address as the account number. This payment system makes you avoid the traditional mode of payment that we’re more familiar with in the past such as checks and bank transfers. Though, the company will be changing its name to PayZa this spring due to new features and some other technological developments that is currently underway.

PayZa has its main headquarters in Montreal, Canada and deliver online payment solution to people from all over the world – it is a worldwide mode of payment for every business owners and consumers.

Just like its competitors and the widely used payment processor, PayPal, it uses the same process that was adapted by PayPal to help its user’s transfer, receive funds online with just their email address as the account number without much more stress. But there is one thing that makes Payza better than PayPal, the service supports more countries of the world, whereby making it easier for countries that weren’t allowed by PayPal to do business securely online. And one more benefit is that, all the transactions on Payza are not that costly as the same was with PayPal (low transaction rates).

AlertPay now turning to PayZa

There is one flop which I’ve experienced with Payza over the years I’ve been using them: it is the issue of waiting for about five (5) days before you can withdraw your money directly into your local bank account (in your local country bank account), the process that took PayPal few seconds to sought out – I do believe that Payza Team would do something about this if they really want to become the best and ready-in-line PayPal Alternative that we’re really hoping for.

Hi Olawale,

My name is Sharon, and let me start by thanking you for contacting us.

Our members in Nigeria can deposit money into their Payza accounts by money order, certified check or bank wire. For reasons beyond our control, localized bank transfers are not supported at this time.

Please also note that currently, there are no withdrawal options available for our Nigerian members. While you can still add funds account, it is temporarily not possible to withdraw funds out of your Payza account by bank transfer, bank wire or check.

You may be able to withdraw funds using an e-currency exchanger which is authorized by Payza. For a list of exchangers that can be used, please visit our website: If you would like to know whether a particular exchanger supports Nigeria, please contact them directly.

We are working on offering more deposit and withdrawal methods for our loyal members in Nigeria. Please check our blog for all updates:

I hope I have been able to answer your question. It was a pleasure serving you today.

Kind regards,

Sharon M.

PERSONAL Starter Account

This is the perfect account designed for people who do not have anything to do with accepting payments on their websites or stores. It is for a person who wants to receive payments from his friends, family and loved ones online without having to pay some charges for the whole transaction (it is a FREE account for a starter). You should know that since this account is made for people that aren’t in need of getting payment from their online stores or websites – you’ll not get selling tools with this kind of account and it has an easy funding and withdrawal mode. And you can add two email addresses with the account and with a monthly receiving limit of around $400 and a cumulative yearly receiving limitation of $2000. And once you account has reached this stage; it would be automatically upgraded to a Personal Pro account.

This account comes with no receiving limits at all unlike Personal Starter Account. With it, you can easily accept online credit card payments on your website or other online stores. The account comes with features like:

  • Mass Pay: This feature gives you an ability to send out or make mass payments to groups of people at the same time without hassle.
  • Integration tools: This makes it easier for you to setup everything once and for all. It makes the integration of the payment system into your website or other online platform an easy task. You get all the tools needed in your account.
  • Website Payment Methods: This includes the Buy Now Buttons, the Subscriptions and Recurring Payments option which you can easily integrated into your website one time for getting payment securely. This account comes with charges though, you would have to pay receiving fee of 2.5% + $0.25 one every transaction on the account. If you are web designer, article or content writer, guest poster, graphic designer or an SEO expert, offering your services online with no feasible means of getting payment from your clients for the job done, use the Payza Personal Pro account to create payment buttons for clients to pay you from your web pages.

This account is mainly tailored at helping the business organizations to become successful faster. The account is aimed at meeting the needs of all your online businesses setups. If you are the owner of your business or you are managing a partnership business under your company’s business name, this account is meant for you because it offers everything you need to grow faster.

It is powered with an unlimited email addresses associated with that single account, and you will be able to run multiple businesses with just one Payza account without the need of creating too many account for different purposes.

Transaction fees on this account is 2.5% + 0.25 per transaction, though, extra fees may be applied for some industries).

We at Techatlast suggests that you should start with the “Personal Starter” account if you did not have any business to do with the account than receiving email payment. And, since it is the only account where you can receive money without paying a fee for receiving the money and you can easily upgrade it whenever you wanted to.

So, after selecting the “Personal Starter” account if that is what you want, then click “Next”.

(c.) You’ll have to fill the signup form with your personal data (You must use your real and valid information in order to avoid having issues in using your account).

PayZa account setup - How to fill in your personal account details

PayZa account setup

(d.) Once you have filled the form with all of your valid information, then click “Next”. The next form will be a new one asking you to enter all the details of your account data (make everything REAL). The data entered in the form will be useful for the security of your account information and also to maintain the account.

(e.) Fill and submit the account opening form and it will then take you to another page where you’d be asked to enter “Third Party” details, just select “No” as your answer if you do not want to use the account with another person. But, if you want to use it with someone else, follow the step then by selecting, “Yes” option to continue.

(f.) Because of spam fight, you will be required to enter the CAPTCHA verification words, and then tick “I agree to Payza’s User Agreement” and after that click the button that says “REGISTER” to submit the whole form.

Finishing the account setup procedure

When all the information is entered correctly as we’ve just explained above, the form would then redirect you back to the confirmation page asking you to check your email to validate your email address.

Then from there go back to your email provider such as Gmail or any other mail client. It is certain that you will receive a message from the company which would help you verify the email address to confirm the account creation.

Open the message and follow the link that says, “validate your mail address” and you will be redirected back to the login back where you can login to your newly created account to finish the whole process.

confirmation of your account

And after that, you can then start using your account to pay, receive, or send money to people online. What you just need to do, is to give people your Payza E-mail Address because it is your AlertPay or Payza ID.

More Help Directly from Payza:

If you want to read more or learn more on this payment processor, or you are encountering issues using your account, then Read the Payza User Agreements/Terms and Conditions or go to the Help Center in case you have any unanswered questions that needed attention.

I, Olawale Daniel, do recommend Payza to you as a reliable payment processing company worldwide. So, create account and start enjoying the features PayPal had failed to give you, enjoy even more than what PayPal can do 🙂

You welcome brother. Hope you found this post useful? Please share with others so that they too can benefit from this article. Payza is cool but they do not allow Nigerians to do everything other countries of the world could do easily on the site – this is really a pain in neck for me and millions of other Nigerians doing one or two legal business online.

Pls After opening a personal pro or the starter account do i have to fund it like liberty reserve and my account his not verified how can i verifie it pls your reply will be appreciated

    • Olawale Daniel

      June 5, 2012 at 1:21 pm

You need a credit card before you can verify your account. Also, you will have to fund it like how you normally funded Liberty Reserve. And the best person that I can recommend for that is SUNEJ: 08082887533 (if you resides in Nigeria but outside Nigeria, you can use Google search for the best funders)

How can i get a credit card to verify it and can meet this sunej in person i dont like audio contact i rather use visual contact and pls am about to receive money on my payza account his there an effect to my account if it’s not yet funded or verify thanks hoping for your response

    • Olawale Daniel

      June 5, 2012 at 10:39 pm

You can receive funds unto your account as of now but you can’t withdraw until you verify your account. I’d suggest that you apply for mastercard from any of our local banks for a new visa or mastercard. But if that doesn’t look simple, another process that I can suggest is via Payoneer Mastercard as I pasted it here The card is okay but you will wait for a month before getting it and it does requires verification as well. Like drivers license and others. Pls let me know which one exactly you’d prefer

Presently, they do not have feature for sending money into your bank account but the right person I know who can buy off the money from you is the person I told you about earlier.

Payza only has features for countries abroad and not nigeria.

However, you can get the bank card so that you can be able to use the card for verifying your account. Do you have drivers license or national identity card?

Let me here what you’ve got to say………
      Hope you understand?

Hello Daniel, I have products to sell to the Nigerian market and I am pretty fed up with searching for a decent payment processing platform from the Website that Nigerians can use easily without fuss. My employees on the ground in Nigeria are testing usage. We have opened up a PayZa account and the first problem encountered was adding funds. What are the step by steps for adding funds from a Nigerian bank into the PayZa account. I have to make it sound as attractive as possible to potential customers to go ahead and set that Payza feature up and then buy the mail order item from the website. What is the turn around time from set up to money in the e-Wallet? Do you use this platform for items you sell (if any?) (The company is Blue Olive Productions, I offer author services focussed on training entrepreneurial skills and providing Publishing, Printing, Marketing, Promotions, Sales coaching and support. I hope that PayZa will become a platform that the authors can use successfully on their own websites for direct purchase of their books.) Thanks, Nancy B

      Hi Nancy,

Thanks for directing this message to me. I’d suggest you upgrade your account to business plan on PayZa and then contact their online customer support to have a one-on-one chat with them in order to get this soughted out but in my own opinion, I will say you brand your business around many systems in case one fails, the other can stand. Thanks for your time and sorry for late response. Here’s their response centre for you:

GUDDAY Mr Olawale daniels, i just got introduced into an online business and for sometime now i have been doing it. i have also subcribed for my internet connection and i am working. the payment systems borders me seeing that Payza has limited options for nigeria. ie the problem of paying you via bank transfer. i want to know if their are people that or firms in nigeria that can lias with payza to transfer your money earned to you. in summary, how do one get payed in to his/her nigerian bank account. i want to also know if some firms can buy your payza funds and pay you in naira equivalent. thank you sir.

    • Olawale Daniel

      August 28, 2012 at 8:00 pm

The right answer to all your questions is YES. It is possible for a nice company to lias with PayZa but getting this done is not that easy because there have to be some kind of trust between the two companies in question (Payza and God-send Nigerian or abroad company). The kind of facilities that the company will have to have advanced features.

Yes you can see funders or exchangers that can help convert your money into Naira but finding the trustworthy ones is a pain in the neck.

TECHATLAST’s support team will try to contact Payza on Nigerian citizen’s behalf; we believe there should be a solution for Nigerians with huge request for Payza bank transfer facilities in Nigeria since majority of online business done in the country is based on Payza and Liberty Reserve. Liberty Reserve is widely used in Nigeria unlike many other countries of the world, so I believe Payza will gain more grounds by rolling out features that will allow Nigerians to transfer money to the bank with ease.

    Dear Daniel,
Kindly assist me on my Payza account i’ve open it over a week ago but i can not use it because Nigeria is not in the Transaction list . i mean when i wanted to test run the fund transfer it requested for the country where your bank is located meanwhile Nigeria is not in the list so what can i do. because, Nigeria was the when i was doing the registration
    Thank you

    • Olawale Daniel

      August 28, 2012 at 7:41 pm

Yes, Nigeria is listed in the accepted countries of the world for registration but when it comes to dealing in cash to Nigerian banks, they have no facility for that as of now. So, if you would like to transfer your funds to the bank, you need to use funders. If you need trusted funders which you can use to get your fund exchanged for Naira, kindly contact me personally via my email or Facebook profile. I will help you with a friend.

How can i verified my alertpay personal pro account ans also how can can transfer funds to my Nigeria bank account?

    • Olawale Daniel

      August 28, 2012 at 7:38 pm

First question: You need a credit card and mobile phone number in order to verify your account. Quickly follow the steps mentioned inside your account to verify and choose the two options to verify it.
Second question: You will need to sell your PayZa (alertpay) funds to funders so that they can pay to your bank or give cash face to face.

      October 1, 2012 at 6:18 pm

This is the first time of hearing this, could you please explain better what happened between you and the person. I think PAYZA is trying to limit the country against scammers. Don’t worry, if Payza insists of allowing Nigerians to do business with us, there would be another way around doing legal business without the company. But don’t relent yet, I will try to get across with them.

You are limited to recieve only $999 and below if your PayZa is unverified, I will advice that you get a VISA card from your local bank and do an instant verification, then your deposit and withdrawal power will be increased. The charges is just within $1 – $2. Thanks.

I have business account with Payza. I have got my websites successfully approved also.

But when my customers click on Buy Now, then the next page which comes ask for account creation first.

Is it necessary for my customers to create Payza account first before making payments to us ? Can they pay directly using their Visa/master card without creating account with payza ?

    • Olawale Daniel

      June 8, 2013 at 7:33 am

I will need to contact PayZa and request for more information regarding this because I personally do not prefer creating an account before ordering stuffs online. That’s why MasterCard and VisaCards were made available. 🙂

I will keep you posted soon. 🙂
