HTC has planned to announce its latest phone HTC Velocity 4G. the announce date is expected in the January 2012 and expected release is also in the same month.
This cell phone is for Telestra. The phone will support 2G network, 3G network and 4G network in the ranges GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, HSDPA 850 / 2100 and LTE 1800 respectively.
The Phone has 126.1 x 57 x 11.3 mm of dimension and 163 grams of weight. It has touch sensitive controls. It has S- LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colors and 540×960 px of resolutions. The display screen is 4.5 inches big in the size having ~245 ppi pixel density. It facilitates multitouch feature with HTC sense UI v3.5.
It is equipped with 3.55 mm jack and enhanced with Loudspeaker feature. It has 16GB Internal memory but only 13 GB is available for User. 1 GB RAM is there also in the phone to boost the processing speed of it. There is also 32GB expandable memory.
GPRS, EDGE, WLAN(Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot), Bluetooth and USB(microUSB v2.0) all the connectivity features are available in this phone. It has Speed as follows:-
HSDPA, 42.2 Mbps
HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps
LTE, 50 Mbps UL
100 Mbps DL
The phone has awesome 8 Mega Pixels camera having 3264×2448 pixels of resolutions. Camera is enhanced with autofocus, dual-LED, flash Geo-tagging, image stabilization, face detection and instant capture features. It can record videos at 1080p@60 fps. There is a secondary camera too which is of 1.3 mega pixels resolutions and can record videos at 720P.
HTC Velocity is proudly powered by Android Operating system which is one of the best and fastest OS of the present market. It has Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon Processor of Dual-core 1.5 GHz Scorpion with Adreno 220 GPU.
There are sensors available in it i.e. Accelerometer, proximity and compass.
There are bundle of features and Apps in this phone such as:
- HTML browser with adobe flash player

- MP3/AAC+/WAV/WMA player
- MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player
- Organizer
- Document viewer
- Voice memo/dial/commands

- Google Talk and Picasa .
The battery of this phone is LI-Ion with the capacity of 1620 mAh.

I think it would be cool to see some posts on layout techniques and theming. There’s definitely a large gap between the basic beginner standard UI elements app and the high quality custom themed apps like Pulse. Perhaps a post showing how you would create a popular app’s UI (purely from a layout perspective).
I’m not convinced by the styling but the spec is impressive, HTC seem to be releasing new models very regularly, I like it!
