iPad 3 & iPad 4 coming to Market in 2012
Sources close to Apple Inc suggest that the year 2012 might witness the launch of 2 new variants of iPads with a back-to-back release in 4 months. The 3rdgeneration iPad model is set to be released in March 2012 and the 4th generation ipad model will be released in October. This is a great news for the Apple enthusiasts.
Taiwan based digital component maker for Apple has suggested that the new device will have a high resolution retina display which was earlier featured in iPhones and iPod touch. The first launch is not set to be bundled with the greatest of features. However, Apple is determined to include a list of killer applications in its October launch.
The October launch is targeted to counter attach the launch of Google-branded tablet which is powered with strong processor and touch screen facilities. The 4thgeneration iPad is expected to have better hardware specs to cope up with the performance factors of Android and Windows based tablets.
Display and Price
The 3rd generation tablet will feature a QXGA display with1,536-by-2,048 pixels. The battery backup time will be improved substantially. Apple is likely to continue its selling of iPad2 even after the launch of iPad3 but with a reduced price tag. The expected price fall might touch $399 for the 2nd generation devices. It is important to notice that even the higher end Kindle model with sophisticated features does not have a price label more than $250.
Apple Inc – Stays With Its Promises:
There have been numerous rumors regarding the specs and launch of iPad3 in the year 2011. The internet was flooded with hoax information regarding the same. However, Apple stayed to its promises as it had already said the year 2011 would be a year of iPad2. It did not release even a single pie of information about iPad3.
Projection on Sales:
Many of the research experts believe that Apple has the ability to sell around 55 million iPads across the globe. 2012 is going to be yet another banner year for Apple Inc. The iOS share in the mobile operating system is set to reach 18% next only to Google’s Android. Apple had sold about 38 million iPads in 2011 with 13 million sales in the December quarter alone. Apple enjoyed a 63% market share of tablets across the globe.
Setback for iPad in China:
A local company in China had won the court proceedings against Apple to use the brand name iPad. The local company had already registered the name “iPad” for its Chinese products in the year 2000 and was marketing under the same label. It moved on to the court against Apple indicating patent violations. The court has passed on a verdict in favor of the local company. It has mandated Apple to change the product name or to pay a hefty amount (worth several billion dollars) to compensate the patent infringement. Sources close to Apple say that the company is yet to make a decision about the same.
