Howard Stevens becomes BlackBerry’s New Head of Global Sales
BlackBerry CEO John Chen has announced the appointment of Howard Stevens as Senior Vice President of global sales carrier. He formerly works as the General Manager telecommunications business unit at SAP.
Described as “a sure leader with 20 years of experience in telecommunications sales “, BlackBerry said Stevens will be take responsibility of developing and executing go-to-market strategies supporting the company’s increasing product portfolio, including enterprise software, devices and other value-added services offerings. In a short statement, Blackberry CEO John Chen said the company is “in the midst of executing on a strong product road map with well-received offerings – from BES12 and BBM Protected to BlackBerry Classic and BlackBerry Passport securities in no time.
“With Mr. Stevens leading the pack, we shall work more closely with our distribution partners to put these innovative products into the hands of more customers and position BlackBerry for more speedy growth,” he added.
BlackBerry stated that Stevens’ reign begins immediately and he will answer to CEO Chen directly.
His former works also includes roles in piloting the increase in sales at Amdocs, a global leader in customer care and billing software for the communications industry, Vallent – a provider of performance management tools for wireless service providers – and Chernikeeff Networks.
“Mr. Stephens also has a sure history in income and marginal increase, leading large organizations as well as building sales units and processes in entrepreneurial new places,” the company stated.
