The telecoms provider has introduced its International Direct Dialing (IDD Promo) which slashes rates on international calls by 50%.
In a move aimed at drastically reducing the cost of international calls, Nigerian telecommunications carrier GLOBACOM has launched a new tariff plan which offers a discount of 50% to all international calls to major international destinations by launching her International Direct Dialing (IDD) promo.
Under this promo all calls made to destinations such as the: United States, Canada, India and China as well as fixed lines in the United Kingdom will be subject to a 50% cost reduction. This was made known during a press statement made in Lagos yesterday by the Head of the Glo Gateway, Mr Steve Stretch, urging Glo subscribers to take full advantage of the promo created by the telecoms company to create a cost effective way through which their customers can connect with friends and family in countries covered by the promo and stated that the promo will serve as means for rewarding customers for their loyalty to the telecoms carrier during this festive season.
Mr Stretch went further to explain that the newly created IDD package which in turns attracts a N500 activation charge as well as N500 bundled airtime valid for a duration of 30 days, will offer customers under this package a 50% discount on international calls which will give much cheaper costs than the usual 20 kobo per second call rates on international calls which the telecoms company offers as its usual tariff. According to Mr Stretch, this tariff will offer a 10 kobo per second call rate for its subscribers. In order to activate this bumper tariff plan, customers are required to dial the activation code *170*25# to enjoy this new offer.
Mr Stretch also stated that the IDD promo also complements Glo’s unlimited roaming promo which allows Glo subscribers who travel outside the country to receive calls on their lines for a 15 day period among other benefits.
