Gone are the days we read African folklores and tales written by foreign authors and orators. Things have really changed, now we have great domestic African content producers making us proud in the field of publishing all over the world. And if we must take note of one area which has received a huge boost in the last few years into consideration, that would be online technology publishing. Its vast changing the way we consume digital content unlike how it used to be years back – we are in the digital age!
Technology encompasses mostly every aspects of our day-to-day activities and it has really been helpful in developing our continent in term of exposure to foreign markets and opportunities.
Why should we write our own African stories?
Instead of relying and feeding on contents and resources produced by foreigners, African content developers and consumers have started looking the other way around, and that’s why The Pan-African Association of Technology Publishers, PATECH came to being! And they are calling on bloggers, content creators, technology service providers, IT experts and other professionals to come on board and reshape how the world view Africa technology eco-system. I strongly believe in this initiative because it will give everyone equal opportunity to be part of this great revolution in the history of Africa.
Fellow african bloggers and content creators, now is the right for you to write and rewrite your stories the way it appeals to your followers, and reclaim Africa’s golden glory which has been loaned away from us for so long.
Considering the high and regular inflow of cash into the African tech industry (in terms of financial support and investment from investors), I personally don’t believe there’s any other time better than now for us to join PATECH and take advantage of what is about to be happening.
Little information about PATECH;
PATECH was launched on 11th, December, 2014 at No 6 Balarabe Street,Victoria Island, Lagos in an event that witnesses highest number of delegates from several government parastatals, corporate organizations, top tech personalities in Nigeria, and top media representatives (DigitalSense, LoveWorldPlus) along with friends of PATECH all over the world. I was privileged to be there too as one of PATECH PIONEER MEMBERS AND FOUNDERS. All glory to God almighty for that.
