San Francisco received a bunch of new visitors on Wed 12th September evening as Apple unveiled its sixth generation iPhone, the iPhone 5, as the superphone was been introduced, most of the features that were rumored about turned out to be true, although they were unable to describe the whole package.
The width of the new iPhone 5 is the same as that of the old version, only that the phone gains a little more in height. At horizontal position, the 4-inch screen has 16:9 proportions, a perfect fit for HDTV shows and better fit for movies making the home screen add an extra fifth icon row.
The back of the iPhone 5 is aluminum and the strips at the top and bottom made of glass.
The A6 chipset of Apple for the iPhone 5 promises to double the computing and graphics performance, and it is also enabled with the superfast 4G LTE Internet.
Not too much went on the camera as it retains its 8MP with an f/2.4 aperture, meaning it lets in so much light. A new feature is the Panorama mode. The camera is 40% faster to snap, it is capable of recognizing up to 10 faces and you are able to snap while recording video.
The battery life of the iPhone 5 boasts of 8 hours of talk time or web browsing. It also posses noise cancellation for outgoing and incoming sound.
The dock on the iPhone 5 has been replaced by Apple, the 30-pin is now 80% lesser making old accessories useless, but Apple has promised an adapter to accompany the arrival of the iPhone 5. The replacement on the dock is called “Lightning”
Apple is planning to sell a simple plug adapter for $30 or one that has six cables for $40.
The new iPhone will start selling on September 21 as pre-order begins on 14 September. Verizon, Sprint or AT&T is the US carriers for the new iPhone 5. The 16 GB version sell for $200, 32 GB goes for $300 while the 64 GB sell for $400.
With 4G not due for completion in Europe it looks like the new iPhone 5 will be released to early. Surely the European market is large enough for Apple to schedule the launch date accordingly?
Thanks
Ronan.
New Iphone 5 sounds interesting, however, does not seem up to the mark. There are other cell phones available in the market with the same or better features that are required in a mobile phone. I guess 4G facilities can only be enjoyed in a few countries and not the developing ones.
Many people believes so…I don’t think it worth its mark as well
Iphone 5 is out and I am sure it is going to be a success in the mobile phone market especially with its new looks and faster processor. Apple is also providing the existing Iphone 4s users an offer that cannot be resisted. Apple is offering to buy their old Iphone 4s in exchange of an Iphone 5. This is surely the biggest promotion strategy ever.
Apple is very synonymous with success in all of its launches so is the launch of the new Apple iPhone 5. It will become successful but the sales could be affected with the recent Samsung lawsuit against Apple.
The iPhone 5 completely rebuilds the iPhone on a framework of new features, its a nice looking phone, especially the Black/Slate color scheme. It’s absolutely the best iPhone to date, and it easily secures its place in the top tier of the smartphone world.
Apple Iphone 5 is a complete no no for me because it is too complicated with its wierd and not so common features. I would rather use some other smartphone which is reasonable in price and easy to use and does not make me waste my valuable time on understanding it.
iPhone is sophisticated for new users especially if you haven’t had a better idea of how it works. But I think you should be able to use it better within 2 weeks? 🙂
But if you can’t please consider other phones.
The audience for Apple’s Iphone will be divided equally into a half of the total population. Not less than half the population would support Iphone because it is a big brand, though it does not have anything great or exciting about it.
