Best paypal alternatives for Nigerians

PayPal Alternatives Lists 2012

1. Bitcoin

If you haven’t been using Bitcoin for online payment, you are missing a lot. Apart from its speed of payment confirmation, the charges are relatively lower than what PayPal charges.

PayZa (aff)

AlertPay is now known as PayZa because the company has changed some part of its network but everything still remains the same as it was before. The only thing there is that, the new development in the company will witness new tools, new features, new service delivery and many more other things. It is ranked #1 as one of the best payment processing company that can replace the popular but stubborn one that we have now (PP :)). You can easily withdraw your money from one account to the other or directly send your cash to direct bank account. So Payza is among the best paypal alternatives if you want to use them.

2. Payoneer

Payoneer is another payment system that I have used recently without bad review for them. The service has large database of users all across the internet with different websites integrating its billing system into their shopping cart interface and many more other similar online payment activities. Companies like WUBB, Odesk and many others are making use of Payoneer online payment system to pay all of their workers with ease and you can test them out for yourself. Apart from all of its features that I have mentioned above, you can use Payoneer prepaid credit card to buy things online and also reload the card directly from their website as explained here.

Personally, Payoneer has become an integral part of this blog, serving as our #1 payment system for advertisers and everyone doing business with the blog.

And we ranked it #2 among the best paypal alternatives!

4. Escrow.com

Highly recommended for Large and Single item transactions. Escrow.com is an online escrow payment company that considerably decrease the likely risk of fraud in all of your online business transaction activities by acting as a trusted third party in the whole transaction process. Big company like AliExpres is using Escrow as their mode of payment for all the manufacturers in the company’s database to safeguard their investments from fraudulent foreigners. Escrow will collect the money from the buyer and hold it until the seller deliver the product to the buyer before they release the fund to the seller (until each party reached satisfactory stage of the whole transaction).

Though, it is not designed for high volume transaction but, it is good for people selling good with high tickets, for example, someone selling a boat, a website or a car can easily use Escrow.

It is currently the fastest method for conducting large transactions online. The company has good customer support which makes it easier for people to easily do online transaction without the fear of being duped by fraudsters. However, you should know that they charge some percentage for all the transaction, so you need to pay proper attention to that before using them. But, since you are in need of good and secure payment, there shouldn’t be any reason why you will not use them since they have 100% assurance of making your business transactions a success!

  1. what’s Wrong with PayPal? I’ve been using that for many decades and have yet to run into issues. also, Pay pal backside up the client in most situations where you argument the declare, so it’s very much a win scenario for the client if they were offended by the owner.

    • Great post, I love PayPal but when it is becoming too hard for people to use every part of the world, I think it would be nice to have alternatives. Thanks for sharing this 🙂

  2. I have paypal and alertpay account, both are of good use to me:) I just don’t understand why paypal is not available in some countries.

  3. I have very nice experience with escrow .. its helped me to sell my blog to a US citizen . Really awesome transaction system .

  4. I think there’s nothing wrong with PayPal. There are just cases like this that happens. Anyway, there’s still a lot of alternatives out there.

They claimed to be the best and still failed to expand to every nation of the world. That is absurd!

      Thanks for your comment

    • Patiently wait, it will get to you no matter how long. I made a reorder twice, but the first one eventually came and it was useless though.

  5. Thanks for this information! Indeed, the problems with paypal go on until now and people are still looking for alternatives. I also had to go through this a couple of years ago. From what I know I could add 2Checkout as a good and promising alternative which it really handy for people who cannot use paypal. Other options i have considered were Skrill and Paysera as they were offering flexible services for smaller price than 2checkout.

    • Yes they are but they aren’t available for Nigerians.

I personally think PayPal has failed Africans with the way they have been handling issue that relates to African businesses. Little do they know that strong competitors are gearing up even from the continent to wrestle the world leaders in the online payments and ecommerce industry.

Today, WorldRemit and VTN, Nigerian well-known mobile payment service provider joined hands in making transfer of funds to and from Nigeria a bit quicker and easier, and I know many other establishments are gearing up to form a partnership with the giants anytime soon.

Don’t be surprised when PayPal service will no longer be needed in Nigeria and other African countries anytime soon. I know that for sure except they acted fast by jumping on the opportunity.
