Recently Research in Motion (RIM) announced that it will be getting the new Blackberry 10 OS as well as the next generation Smartphone into customers hand by the beginning of next year. Last Thursday after this announcement, the Blackberry shares rose by nine percent.
RIM promises that the Blackberry 10 will not fail in early 2013
The Blackberry 10 was supposed to have released by this year ending, but RIM differs the next generation OS and smartphone till next year, a statement from RIM CEO Thorsten Heins confirmed that this much expected RIM’s production had been delivered to over 50 carriers around the globe for test running.
As Heins was delivering his speech, he confirmed that the development of the Blackberry 10 has passed a critical milestone and that RIM is committed to deliver as the result of the conference call it recently held.
As a report on CNN showed, getting stock increased by nine percent is never from the function of a promise that a smartphone will be released, but investors see a reason to celebrate the return of RIM with the Blackberry 10.
The Blackberry 10 OS and smartphone has initially been scheduled by RIM to get released at the beginning of 2012, later the company delayed it to the end of the year and then now, to the beginning of next year. The CEO made it clear that the Blackberry 10 release in the first quarter of next year is number one in RIM’s agenda.
Heins was happy to share that carriers had tremendously been responding well to the Blackberry 10 and testing will proceed for few months and even new carriers are showing interest to test out the new product.
RIM has vouched that the Blackberry 10 will compete with the Apple and Android platform, and that the OS would run few devices with compulsory features that includes; a powerful camera, modern internet browser and social networking features. The Blackberry 10 will give you an access to your email with just a swipe from any application, and you are able to shift from coperate to personal modes which will allow you to securely swap between them.
More assignment left for RIM is to mobilize software makers to develop apps and for coperate customers to get an upgrade.
Some software developers are still loyal to Blackberry, but most of them are focusing mostly on the Apple iOS and Android platforms. The Blackberry 10 will be enabled for Android apps, but the expectation of RIM is that more developers will like to create something specifically for the Blackberry 10.
Are you really expecting the Blackberry 10, let’s know how anxious you are?
It’s about time it came out. Sadly though, I’m afraid the damage has been done. The failure of past products coupled with the delayed release of Blackberry 10 will ultimately lead to RIM’s demise.
Well, it might be so, but I m not 100% in agreement with that, RIM can still redeem its image with good production
I am desperately waiting for Blackberry 10 to launch. I have so much of expectation from this cellular device that I am not ready to buy any other blackberry device than this. I am ready to wait a few more months. I recently sold off my blackberry curve and wish to buy this mobile phone soon.
It will launch soon and you will feel it 🙂
i think the new OS wont do much good to RIM. The kind of phones they offer in a category are much less equipped than the samsung, lg and also Nokia to a certain extent. Also the niche of RIM i.e BBM has been lost after whatsapp came in..
The good news is that, RIM is expecting to take up the market with the next launch, there is a news about its new smartphone which it called “Blackberry Aristo”. I think RIM is coming back with a big package. Thanks for taking your time here.
I also carry a blackberry curve and I believe that most of the handsets launched by blackberry have a similar look. Although there is a huge price variance. And the one above is looking different. So hopefully this will do well.
It surely going to do even beyond your expectations 🙂
