Snapseed for android

This app is quite popular for iOS devices and has found its way for Android as well. Android users can find it in the Google Play. This popular image related app for iOS devices was developed by Nik Software, which got acquired by Google. The amazing thing is that, Google  acquired it on the same time, when Instagram was acquired by the social networking giant Facebook. The popularity of this app is quite clear from the fact that this app won the award of best iPad app last year. When the Nik Software was acquired by Google, the analysts were treating it as Google’s move to make its social networking site Google+, popular among mobile users. The reason behind this thinking is the acquisition of alike apps, by two social networking websites, which are known to be tough competitors of each other. But by launching it for Android devices.

Snapseed for Android

If you are an iOS user, then you might be thinking that is there any news for yours? Well, yes good news for you too. As this search giant Google has made this app free for you. Previously, one had to pay $4.99 to use this app, but now it is all free. If you want to use this app on Mac or Windows, then you will have to pay a small amount of $19.99 for this app.

The Snapseed comes with the Google+ share button right between the open and save icons, allowing the users to share the images easily on Google+. Well, one can share with other services via the common options. The iOS app is strict to Google+ share only. If you want to share your images on other social networks, then you will first have to download the image after performing the editing part. Then you can share this downloaded image on other social networking sites, using their own apps. Quite time consuming task.

Vic Gundotra, senior vice president of Google, stated in an official blog post:

“Having welcomed Nik to the Google family, we’re excited to bring their Snapseed app (last year’s iPad app of the year) to Android.”

As this app is expected to play the same role in Google+, what the Instagram is doing in Facebook. If we talk about the features of Snapseed, it lets you to tune, straighten and crop the images. This app has got more preset filters in it that you can use in your images. These filters include the black, white, drama etc. So you have better editing options as compared to Instagram. Though the app is already popular among the iOS users, it will be interesting to see that whether this app touches the same success on Android, as it did not iPad, or not. If we go among with the predictions of analysts, then this app is going to be very popular on Android as Android has got a huge user base and moreover, this app is free to download.

Well, it would not be good to say anything about this app at this moment. What do you think about it? Will it bring any users’ count’s boost for the Google+, or not.  Share your views with us, in the comment section below.
