Apple’s operating system is perfect in every aspect, but it lacks some good features as well. If you are an iOS user, then you might be in the queue of people who hate the Apple Maps. Apple Maps is considered as one of the worst tech failures of this year. These Maps gave wrong directions to users and a few days back, a cab driver found himself to be lost in bushes, where he reached by following poor Map of Apple. Apple may be better in all aspects from Google. But admit it, not any other Map can compete with Google Maps. Right?

It seems that Apple also admits it now and that’s why we got a chance to see the release of Google Maps for iOS, a few days back. This was really a news of joy for iOS users, who love the Google Maps service. Well, Google Maps have set a new record in the download history for iOS. It has crossed the 10 million download mark in just 48 hours. Google Maps seems to be waited eagerly by the iOS users.

If you are an Internet bird, then you might be familiar that Google notified about the release of Google Maps for iOS devices a few days back and stated that Google Apps for iOS devices is out now. We are rolling the update across the world. Later, commenting on the release, Google stated that Google Apps for iOS devices is designed from scratch. This is designed so as to give a nice and simple user interface to make the search fast and easy.

Features of Google Apps for iOS Devices

Google stated that Google Maps for iOS devices is a vector-based map and provides smooth tilting and rotating of 2D and 3D views. The search box at the top enables the user to search for the place or any other stuff like ATM, Restaurant, Bar etc. by just entering the name. This does not save only time, but also makes it convenient to use. Expandable info sheet enables the users to get more info about the searched location. Like Directions, Distance etc.

Street View feature is also a part of Google Maps for iOS devices. This allows the user to preview where he/she wants to go. One can see the inside places with  Business Photos feature. The Voice-Guided search enables the users to perform a search with voice commands. No need to go through the typing process. Real time features makes users to access live traffic information in cities across the world. Users can search their way by train, bus or any other mode of conveyance. All these features make Google Apps for iOS devices to be far better than Apple’s own Maps.

Google Maps have always been the best maps till date. The Google Maps is already available for Android OS and Windows OS, and has created a great success history in both these OS. This new record set by Google Maps for iOS devices was already expected as iOS users were sick of using poor Apple Maps, and they were demanding Google Maps for long. The 10 million download mark clearly shows the eagerness of iOS users. Well, this is count in the 24 hours only. It would be interesting to see that how much popularity Google Apps for iOS get in the near future. Moreover, Apple’s next step regarding Maps feature would be interesting to see as its own Maps is a big failure already.

Will Apple bring improved features in its own Maps in the new iOS version or will stick to Google Apps? What’s your view about it?
