HTC One Vs iPhone 5: Comparison Begins!

The latest android flagship smartphone from HTC is named as “One”. Yes, the only One this time no further character. As always the design is the key of the device and it looks really stunning.

HTC has created the body of the device with all aluminium and the display is perfectly fixed into the body. It is very hard to find out any gap between the body and display.

The only device which is there in the market that can compete this device in design is the iPhone 5 so here I am comparing both the devices.

HTC One gaining momentum over iPhone 5

Designs of both the devices are unique but HTC One has got sharp edges that look identical with that of iPhone 5. Both the devices have complete aluminum body with display firmly fixed. It is very hard to select one device out of these two if I consider the design.HTC One mobile phone vs iPhone 5

HTC One has got super speedy quad core processor with clock speed of 1.7GHz that is added with Adreno 320 GPU to provide the perfect graphics performance. While the iPhone 5 has got the dual core 1.2GHz processor added with PowerVR’s GPU that also provide the perfect graphics performance. The multi tasking speed of HTC One is better than of iPhone 5.

HTC One has bigger 4.7 inch display with full HD resolution of 1080×1920 pixels while the iPhone 5 has got 4 inch display with above HD resolution of 640×1136 pixels. Both the device supports multi touch but the display of HTC One is better as it got better pixel density (469 ppi) than of iPhone 5 (326 ppi).

HTC One is available with 2GB RAM fixed for the CPU and 32 or 64GB internal storage for the user and operating system while the iPhone 5 is available with 1GB RAM fixed for the CPU and 16 or 32 or 64GB internal storage. Both the devices don’t have external slot for microSD card.

Wireless Connectivity

The HTC One has got Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and Infrared wireless connectivity features while the Apple iPhone 5 has only Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Talking about cellular connectivity, both the devices are compatible with 2G, 3G (HSDPA) and 4G (LTE) cellular network standards.

iPhone 5 seems to be winning here

HTC has brought a new kind of camera at rear of the device having 4MP ratings but the sensor size is same. The quality of the videos and pics are even better than of a 13MP smartphone camera. At front, it has 2.1MP camera with HDR feature.Apple iPhone 5

iPhone 5 has got 8MP camera at rear that provides high quality pics and videos. The quality is so stunning that it beats the quality of 13MP camera. It has got 1.2MP camera that is capable of recording HD quality videos.

Mobile Operating System (OS)

HTC One operates on Google’s android Jelly Bean 4.1.2 operating system that is upgradable to the latest version of Jelly Bean (4.2.2) as well while the iPhone 5 operates on Apple’s iOS 6 operating system. Android is the leading operating system in the smartphone market but still the iOS is best.

Good or Bad Battery Life

iPhone 5 provides a pretty decent battery life of 8 hours in a day with general internet surfing, playing videos and music files with everyday calls and texts while the HTC One also provides almost the same battery life. HTC One has got more powerful battery but due to its full HD bigger display and quad core processor it consumes more battery.

Both the devices have been provided with non removable standard batteries.

If you are really confused whether to go for iPhone 5 or HTC One, all I can only say is for you to go for HTC One since it’s recently launched. And moreover, iPhone 5 is much costlier than HTC One, but we do not want to disappoint you if you’re a Apple fanboy and not bother with cost of the phone, go for iPhone 5.

  1. Great post! Comparing two of the most advance and classy phones in the world today is just incredible. I like how you point out the strengths of each phone. It gives the reader’s an idea on where these phones are good at. Very informative and well-written post. Thanks for sharing this.

  2. I must say iPhone 5 is nothing against even HTC one. Apple’s creativity dies with Steve Jobs. I recommend HTC One and you should wait for Samsung S4

  3. The HTC One is a Big ANDROID Phone But he is the Best now 🙂 Because of : Sense 5 , The amazing Camera … i love it <3

  4. I would any day recommend people to go for HTC One because it defeats apple in every regard and it is less expensive than iPhone 5. The RAM is double compare to apple and this means a far more better processing capacity with quad core processor. Another amazing thing to watch with this phone is the boom boom feature which plays at 92 decibels. Really love this one.

  5. The blink feed feature offered by HTC is damn interesting and it is something really new. I am quite excited to hold thisnphone. If we compare the specs of HTC and iPhone it clearly shows that HTC is way ahead of apple with better processor, camera and hardware.

  6. Apple phones offer some of the great applications but I just wished that they had done some changes with their design, themes and screen size. HTC has brought in so many changes with their recent phones such as HTC one X, One X+, Butterfly and now HTC One. All of them are interesting and different. I prefer HTC.

  7. Mobile technology is changing at an ever increasing pace. Now the next thing that I would expect is a dip in price and so nice if it goes my way. Another change that has taken place in the mobile world is the processor. It is getting faster and better.

    • I don’t think the prices are getting anywhere better, though the specs and features are getting great, but manufacturers are getting paid backs for their offer. It is better where carriers subsidize the smartphones for users. Other market without subsidy is worst.

  8. I would prefer iPhone over HTC because of the amazing apps offered by apple. Their apps are mostly paid but i would still prefer it because they are excellent. But if we lay aside the apps and prefer a phone with good quality screen, excellent speakers, multi tasking ability then HTC is the ideal one.

    • The Android app market is also growing so rapidly and offering largest percentage free. Don’t you think it is better to save, than to keep spending on Apple. Apple is all about the Dollars.

  9. Now that HTC has announced the stock Android version of the HTC One, it looks like this is the best Android smartphone of 2013. Hopefully, HTC will release an AOSP ROM for early adopters who want to embrace this HTC One Nexus experience.

  10. I ll Go with HTC one. It was a flagship for the htc phones. I have usedhtc one X which costed 30K. it was a super phone .You will never get to know what laggng of phone is.. super display and the best camera in its category. And this is HTC ONE .. one step ahead of what i have used… 🙂
