Two iPhone hackers, Paul and Ryan, have come up with a new Siri port which they say will bring all voice assistant’s quality to any jailbroken iOS 5 device legally.
Ryan Petrich and Grant Paul says their Spire installer which they just released brings all the iPhone 4S Siri functionality to any jailbroken iPhone 3Gs, iPhone 4 device, iPod Touch and the iPad’s.
And unlike many other Siri ports that was created in the past few weeks, they say, this new tool is perfectly legal.
Paul says, “Spire uses a new method to obtain the files necessary for Siri, so it doesn’t have the copyright issues encountered by previous attempts.”
It’s not the easiest of the solutions presently, though because Apple still requires an authorization to use the Siri feature, and that means any information from the iPhone 4S is still required through the use of proxy.
“Paul said that for anyone who already owns an iPhone 4S – or has a friend that does – it’s just a matter of using the phone’s own authentification tokens. Otherwise, he says, it may be possible for them to use Google Chrome’s speech API, hooked up to code that can decode the Siri requests and parse Google’s result.”
“Maybe in the future someone will find a way to evade the authorization requirement, but from my position here that is unlikely,” he says. “Hopefully, however, you will be able to figure something out.” TGdaily

He continues by saying that if the iphone 4S device is jailbroken, that there’s no need to worry about the proxy server in order for the device to work.
Presently, the Spire is freely available on Cydia and you can get it from this link. However, Paul warns users that it uses a memory of about 100MB of data, and that means that a Wi-Fi connection is highly necessary.

Well I believe this was really interesting article. It has been seen that The Siri port, called “Spire,” works on any phone that can run IOS 5. However, because Apple only officially supports Siri requests coming from the I Phone 4S, a proxy server address is still required. Thanks for sharing it.
I’m still unable to set-up a proxy server to use Spire. Have you come across the solution? It would be interesting to see if Apple decides to legally allow Siri to port to old generation device or not.
cheers for such a fantastic blog. Where else could someone get that kind of information written in such a perfect way? I have a presentation that I am presently working on, and I have been on the look out for such info.
Your post will be rather good, and I’m sure some will find it interesting because it’s about a topic that’s as widely discussed as others. Some may even find it useful.nice one so much for your post.
Thanks
