Twitter mobile now allows image upload

Just like Facebook, the Twitter mobile has now enabled picture uploads through the mobile browser. This feature will allow you to attach images to your tweets, you are able to attach an image from your file in the gallery or click to use the camera to snap a fresh image.

For now, it seems only the Android Ice cream Sandwich users up to the Jelly Bean are lucky with the new Twitter mobile app upgrade. Reporters also say that iOS 6 devices will also be able to use this new Twitter mobile feature.

Twitter

This development is a proof by Twitter drifting away from third-party clients to increase its control over user experience. Presently, users can only attach images to the official Twitter mobile app, some third-party clients and via the browser on the PC.

Getting the image attached via the Twitter mobile is not difficult, but a little slow but looks cumbersome. Tweetbot seem to be the easiest app for me to upload Twitter mobile image, Twitter has disable the feature that will allow you to see how you have posted a particular tweet, and it seems third party clients are protesting over this.

The via stamp feature has also been disabled on Twitter mobile, the social networking site is now doing away from its earlier philosophy of providing users with as much information needed and now focusing on controlling user experience. Before, you could click on detail to see as much details as possible about a tweet, but now, it is no longer.

This change of “removing via stamp” is said to be a move by Twitter to further gain control on how its website content looks and slowly going towards monopolizing its own apps and clients.

This restriction on the ability to view the application, or client or reshuffle a tweet can be good for security, but it puts third party clients to be strangers, who are the most widely used for tweeting.

This process follows through the changes that came to the Twitter API for third party apps that got recently implemented. The new compulsory guidelines oversee how third accesses party and display Twitter’s data. Many popular smartphone and desktop clients are affected. The new regulation restrict common practices like mixing Tweets with news from other sources so as to show the user relevant information and displaying Tweets and statistics in a peculiar manner. This will shift the third party client to behave so much like official Twitter app and clients, but limiting their uniqueness.
